Empowering Communities: Uplight’s Donation to GiveNKind

By Kate Devitt on

At Uplight, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. After all, our purpose is to create a more sustainable future using business as a force for good. That’s why we decided  to contribute to GiveNKind, an organization dedicated to improving lives and protecting the environment by sustainably managing excess resources.

This year, Uplight made a donation of 26,000+ Marketplace LED light bulbs to GiveNKind through customer LED returns. Uplight’s marketplace features a broad set of utility offerings, including energy efficiency products like LED light bulbs. We were able to donate the excess LED bulbs from our marketplace returns to GivenKind— these high-quality LEDs will not only reduce energy consumption, saving the average household $225 per year in energy costs, but also make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. The Children’s Hunger Fund, an organization providing essential products to families throughout the U.S. and abroad, received our donation.

GiveNKind’s mission aligns with our values at Uplight. By connecting over $14 million worth of donated goods with 250+ charitable nonprofit organizations in 2023 alone, GiveNKind has demonstrated their commitment to making a difference in communities around the world.

Through their innovative approach, GiveNKind ensures that surplus resources find their way to those who need them most, all while promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. Learn more about GiveNKind and their mission by visiting their website at givenkind.org
