Many utilities have rolled out or are in the process of rolling out time of use and other rate plans, but business customers, especially small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) may not know about them or find them too complicated to enroll in.
To uncover places where utilities could ease the rate enrollment process and provide helpful rate education, Uplight and SeeChange conducted research focused on understanding small to medium sized (SMB) customer’s current state of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards utility rates. The findings? SMB customers trust their utility, but utilities have room to be more proactive in their rates messaging in a more clear, concise and relevant manner.
