Time varying rates can be a powerful tool to maximize load flexibility and empower customers to take control of their energy bills. However, transitioning customers to a new Time-of-Use rate, whether it be opt-in or opt-out, is a hurdle all on its own. Once a customer is on a new rate, it is up to the utility to educate and empower their customers to get the most out of it––leading to greater customer satisfaction, customer engagement, and participation in other programs.
