Rate Education Reports

What? A utility utilized Uplight’s Rate Education Reports and Rate Advisor web tool as the primary recruitment vehicle for an opt-in Time-of-Use rate pilot. The benefit: The utility saw a 5.2% TOU enrollment rate for opt-in TOU rates promoted by Uplight’s print & email Rate Education Reports & Rate Advisor, in comparison to 0.5%-1.9% enrollment rates from a similar TOU pilot. Uplight exceeded enrollment targets for each rate category, enrolling over 8,000 customers in TOU. Black Friday Cyber Monday Results

What? Uplight clients had successful Black Friday/ Cyber Monday (BFCM) promotions with 47 Marketplace storefronts across 25 utilities participating. Benefits: Energy customers got discounted or rebated energy-saving products such as smart thermostats, air purifiers, EV chargers, and more. More details: Air purifiers were a new best seller in 2023, with over 2,000 air purifiers sold in November. Uplight sold 55,978 smart thermostats in November, outpacing forecasts for the month. We also saw an 88% increase in EV charger sales in November. To reach customers during BFCM, Uplight had 32 million email touchpoints in addition to other outreach tactics by Uplight, utilities, and OEMs. Customers who had questions or issues had their call answered within 10 seconds or less in November, with a highly impressive average of 2.15 seconds speed to answer on Cyber Monday!

Product Selection on Offer Center

What?: Customers can choose between multiple products within the same ‘giveaway’ on Offer Center. Benefits: Merchandising several products does not require utilities to show a brand preference when launching a giveaway and also increases customer agency when participating. More details: This can be combined with bundled enrollment into a demand response or rate program. Some example selection cases include a Google, Emerson, or Honeywell thermostat, colored or clear holiday lights, and a power strip or a water savings kit. Multiple Products on Offer Center

Business Customers

Near Real-Time Usage

What?: Uplight’s integration with meter manufacturer APIs now delivers interval data as soon as available in a dedicated near-real-time view that shows the previous 24 hours of usage. Benefits: This view allows users to track usage in real-time to make strategic energy use decisions. For instance, a business customer can make operational changes – including those recommended by our Next Best Actions service – to their facility and understand immediately how those changes impacted their usage. Bill Comparison - Enhanced with Rate Insights

What?: Uplight’s bill comparison tool helps business customers understand how their bill compares with the previous bill, and what factors might be contributing to the change – including weather, operational factors, demand charges, and peak energy usage. The bill comparison feature has been enhanced to include insights about how rate elections and tariff changes impact a customer’s bill, including seasonal rate changes as well rate plan changes. Benefits: Inclusion of rate insights in Uplight’s bill comparison tool allows customers to understand how their rate choices are impacting their bill and better understand how they can optimize their costs. Rate Simulation and Savings

What?: Uplight’s Rate Analysis tool allows business customers to compare annual costs on their current rate plan with estimated costs on other rate plans they are eligible for. The Rate Simulation and Savings view allows business customers to take this analysis a step further by simulating how their rate plan options can be optimized with projected energy savings. Benefits: This tool allows business customers to incorporate energy-savings actions into their rate plan decision making. A customer can easily compare all eligible rates, personalized to their usage data and program elections.
