National Grid Takes Control Over Their HES Program

By Crystal Leaver on

National Grid USA manages hundreds of contractors, projects, and deadlines through their Home Energy Services (HES) program–the top residential energy efficiency program in the country. The utility wanted to improve transparency of their HES program by improving access to program data and create an easy-to-use modeling tool to reduce contractors’ in-home audit burden.

National Grid selected EnergySavvy’s Workflow Automation (WFA) tool in 2016 to create a single system of record for their HES program. EnergySavvy also delivered energy modeling functionality–expediting implementation to launch on schedule despite the utility’s change in plans.

Contractors, utility staff, and customers have all seen results from the WFA tool. Contractors are benefiting from faster turn around time, increased efficiency, quicker ramp-up, and faster invoicing. Greg Krantz, a Lead Program Manager for National Grid said, “The software is intuitive, user friendly and automates tasks that were previously completed manually. We immediately saw a reduction in amount of administrative time required to manage projects, as well as time savings for energy auditors completing tasks in the field.”

National Grid now has full control of their program to improve the customer experience, reduce back-office administration, make contractors happier, and reduce the cost of program delivery.

WFA facilitates seamless coordination amongst the program stakeholders and helps National Grid drive increased savings to over 80,000 customers projects annually.
