Uplight Named a Top Workplace by The Denver Post

Uplight also recently recognized by industry leaders for its mission driven work to help decarbonize the energy industry

BOULDER, Colo. – May 5, 2021 – Uplight, the technology partner of energy providers transitioning to the clean energy ecosystem, was recognized by The Denver Post as a Top Workplace due to its high marks from employees. This recognition comes on the heels of being named a top mid-sized place to work by Built in Colorado earlier in 2021.

As the award guideline notes, creating a Top Workplace is about more than just providing benefits, it’s about creating a healthy organization where employees thrive. Employees today are seeking mission driven workplaces where they can find alignment with company vision, while feeling they are valued and their voices are heard. As a company, Uplight is working to decarbonize the energy industry and build a cleaner energy future for all, and seeks out employees looking to contribute to that mission. Additionally, Uplight surveys the company quarterly to understand employee sentiment, identify opportunities for improvement, and better meet the needs of its employees.

“Being recognized as a best place to work by two different organizations is incredibly meaningful after the year we have just come out of. After merging and acquiring multiple companies, we not only had to redefine our company culture and values but do it remotely during a pandemic. The acknowledgment from The Denver Post for the numerous initiatives we enacted to make our culture stronger and more responsive to employee needs is especially meaningful,” said Angela Tucci, Chief Operating Officer of Uplight.

In addition to being named a top place to work by two publications, Uplight is proud to announce two additional honors that recognize Uplight’s mission driven work to motivate energy users to reduce their energy usage. Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA) recently recognized Uplight’s work with Consumers and Google to provide thermostats to MI households as a Pacesetter Program. Additionally, Justin Segall, Uplight’s Chief Strategy Officer, was named to this year’s Public Utilities Fortnightly Forty Under Forty list.. He was recognized for his work in bringing more innovative solutions to utilities, as well as his role in helping Uplight become a B Corporation. As a B Corporation, Uplight committed the company to use profit and growth as a means to a greater end: for employees, communities and the environment.
