The Cleanie Awards celebrate “the movers and shakers in CleanTech,” and we are thrilled that Consumers Energy, an Uplight client, has been selected as a winner in the “Keep the Power On” category. The award exemplifies Consumers Energy’s dedication to both cleantech and their customers.
To ease the financial and energy burden placed on customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Consumers Energy launched an ambitious campaign to put 100,000 Google Nest Thermostat Es into the homes of customers who enrolled. The program launched on May 19, enabling Consumers Energy customers to save up to 15 percent off their summer electricity bills at a time of year when customers traditionally are cranking their air conditioners.
An impressive 91% of customers with eligible devices enrolled in the demand response program through the Consumers Energy Marketplace, both powered by Uplight. Best of all, the program provides a strong foundation for a winter demand response program, creating additional energy capacity in the near term.
